Common Cooking Conversions

Cooking at home is a great way to save money and calories. These common cooking conversions will help you figure out some confusing recipes as well as aid in doubling or cutting a recipe in half. I have a “cheat sheet”printed out and attached to my fridge similar to this one here.

1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons = 1/2 fl. oz

1/2 cup = 8 tablespoons = 4 fl. oz

1 pint = 2 cups = 16 fl. oz

1 quart = 2 pints = 32 fl. oz

1 liter = 1 quart + 1/4 cup = 34 fl. oz

1 gallon = 4 quarts = 128 fl oz
